To copy gold signals from Telegram to MT5 you need a copier that reads entry zones like 4145/4155, enters "SELL NOW" signals at market, adds take-profits that arrive in a later message, and knows a gold pip is 0.1. Then you match your broker's gold symbol and set limits for spread and late entries. Gold channels break more copiers than any other kind, so the settings matter more here than the copier's logo.
Below, each gold problem is paired with the MT5 Telegram Copier setting that handles it, using the labels from your account's settings page.
Why XAUUSD channels are hard to copy
A typical EURUSD channel posts one tidy message. Gold channels post fast, often in two or three steps, in a market that can move several dollars in a minute. Every shortcut in a message is something your copier has to guess.
Entry zones and SELL NOW signals
Gold entries usually come as a zone: "SELL 4145/4155" means sell anywhere in that range, and the copier has to decide what to do at 4143 or 4162.
Then there's the bare "SELL NOW" with no price, the SL following seconds later. Our parser reads a single price, a zone, and NOW signals. What happens next depends on two settings in Entries & safety.
"How to enter" defaults to Automatic, which buys or sells at once if price is close to the entry and otherwise places a pending order. "Close enough to enter now (pips)" sets how close, and the default is 30 pips, which is 3.0 on gold. With a 4145/4155 sell zone and price at 4143, that's 2.0 below the zone, inside 3.0, so it sells at market.
Take-profits posted later, or re-posted
Many gold channels post "SELL 4145/4155 SL 4160" first, so members can get in, then send TP1 to TP4 a moment later. Sometimes that second message is an edit of the first. Sometimes it's a reply. Sometimes it's a brand new message repeating the whole signal.
For edits, "When a signal is edited, update its stop-loss and take-profits" is on by default. Replies with management instructions are handled by "Act on close, move SL, partial close messages".
For the re-post, look under Follow-up messages for "The channel re-posts an open signal as a new message (not a reply)". The default is "Copy it as a new signal", which opens more trades. For a gold channel that posts the short version and then the full one, switch it to "Update the open trades": the TPs and SL go onto the trades already open, and nothing new is opened. It applies to signals opened within the last 30 minutes unless you change "Only for signals opened in the last (minutes)".
One more piece. If you split trades by TP, "Signal without take-profits yet: open this many trades" decides how many trades open on the first message. Set it to the number of TPs the channel normally posts, say 4, and each trade picks up its own TP when the full signal arrives.
Gold pips: 0.1, not 0.0001
On gold, one pip is 0.1. So 30 pips is 3.0, and a "50 pip stop" on gold is 5.0 away from entry. Most confusion with gold copiers comes from this, especially when a channel writes "SL 40 pips" instead of a price.
Our pip sizes are preset (XAUUSD=0.1) and every pip-based setting uses them. If your channel counts gold pips differently (a few count 1.0 as a pip), change "Pip sizes" under Follow-up messages. Leave it alone otherwise.
Broker symbol names: XAUUSD.s, GOLD, XAUUSDm
Your channel writes XAUUSD. Your broker might list XAUUSD.s, XAUUSDm, XAUUSD.pro or plain GOLD. If the copier sends the wrong name, the order fails.
The copier detects the broker's suffix automatically. For different names, "Rename symbols" under Symbols already contains GOLD=XAUUSD. Add your own pairs if needed. "Add to every symbol" is there only if auto-detection picks the wrong suffix. If your gold channel never writes the symbol at all ("SELL 4150 SL 4160"), set "Symbol when the message has none" to XAUUSD. The full walkthrough is in symbol mapping.
Spread spikes and fast moves
Around US data releases gold spreads can widen sharply, and a signal copied then fills far from the provider's entry.
"Skip if the spread is wider than (pips)" is off by default (0). Watch your broker's normal gold spread on demo for a few days, then set the limit above it with some room. Too tight and you'll skip most signals.
Fast moves create the other problem: price has already run past the zone by the time the message lands. "Price already further past the entry zone than that" has two choices. "Place a pending order at the zone" waits for a pullback, and signals marked NOW still enter at market. "Skip the signal" never enters at a worse price than the zone plus your distance, NOW signals included. Better prices are always taken. If you'd rather miss a trade than chase one, choose skip.
Unfilled pending orders are cancelled after 240 minutes by default; for a scalp channel, shorter often makes more sense.
Multiple TPs and break-even
Gold signals often carry three to five TPs. "One trade per TP" splits the lot into several trades, each closing at its own TP, equally or weighted like 50,30,20. "One trade, close part at each TP" opens one trade and closes a part (in % or lots) at each TP, the rest riding to the last.
On a small account, check what the split actually produces. 0.01 lots can't be split four ways. The "What would open?" table on the dashboard shows the trades before any signal arrives.
"Move the stop-loss to entry" can be At TP1, TP2 or TP3, After X pips, Only when the signal says so, or Off, and "Break-even extra pips" locks a little profit. Many gold channels write "TP1 hit, move SL to BE", and "A TP hit message also moves to break-even" catches that. If they use their own phrases ("first target done"), add them under Custom words. Our risk settings guide covers lot sizing in more depth.
A starting setup for a gold channel
This is a starting point for testing on a demo account, not a recommendation for live trading. Adjust it to how your channel actually posts.
| Setting | Starting value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| How to size trades | Fixed lot, small, or Risk % of balance at a low % | Gold moves a lot per lot |
| Never open more than (lots in total) | A cap you're comfortable with | Stops a misread lot from going big |
| How to take profit | One trade per TP | Each TP closes on its own |
| Signal without take-profits yet | The channel's usual number of TPs | Late TPs land on the right trades |
| Re-posted signal | Update the open trades, 30 minutes | Stops duplicates from short-then-full posts |
| How to enter | Automatic | Market if close, pending if not |
| Close enough to enter now | 30 pips (3.0) | The default; tighten for scalps |
| Price further past the zone | Skip the signal | No chasing |
| Cancel unfilled pending orders | Shorter than 240 if the channel scalps | Old pendings shouldn't fill hours later |
| Skip signals without a stop-loss | On | No open-ended gold trades |
| Skip if the spread is wider than | Above your broker's normal gold spread | Avoids news fills |
| Move the stop-loss to entry | At TP1 | A common gold channel style |
| More signals at once | One signal at a time | Keeps exposure simple while testing |
| Extra entries | Off | Averaging into gold adds risk quickly |
Run it on demo for a week or two, compare your fills with the channel's entries, and change one setting at a time.
To connect Telegram and MT5, follow the setup guide. It runs in the browser on our servers, so nothing has to stay on at home. The plan is EUR 24.99 a month for one channel and one MT5 account (pricing). Copying gold signals can lose money, quickly, and no setting changes that.
Gold signal copier FAQ
How many pips is 3.0 on gold?
30 pips. On XAUUSD one pip is 0.1, so 1.0 is 10 pips and 3.0 is 30 pips. Every pip-based setting in our copier uses that size for gold.
My broker calls gold GOLD or XAUUSD.s. Will the copier find it?
The copier detects broker suffixes like XAUUSD.s automatically, and the rename list already has GOLD=XAUUSD. Add your own pairs under Rename symbols if your broker uses a different name.
What happens with a SELL NOW signal that has no price?
It's entered at market. If the NOW signal also gives a zone and you chose "Skip the signal", it's skipped when price is already past that zone by more than your "Close enough" distance.
The channel posts the TPs in a second message. Will I get them?
Yes, if it's an edit or a reply. If it's a new message repeating the signal, set "re-posts an open signal" to "Update the open trades" so the TPs go onto the trades already open.
